inBetween is a private, voice-first app for recording, organising and preserving your memories over time. You record in your own voice. inBetween helps you bring the people, places and moments within those memories together so your story can grow over time.

inBetween can be used by anyone who wants to gather and preserve their story. It may feel particularly familiar if your life spans different cultures, countries, languages, families, places or identities. You don't need a particular background or label to use inBetween.

No. When your recordings are stored locally on your device, the inBetween team cannot listen to them or browse through them. Some optional features require external processing. If you choose one of those features, we explain what happens when information needs to leave your device.

Some features, including transcription and certain AI functions, need external processing. The information needed for that feature may then be sent securely for processing outside your device. We explain when this happens so you can decide whether you want to use the feature.

No. Your personal stories are not used to train AI models.

AI can help with specific tasks such as transcription and organising information from your memories. It can help bring information together. It does not decide what your memories mean or tell you how to understand your life. You make those connections yourself.

You control what you keep and what you delete. If something has been permanently deleted and no recoverable copy remains, we cannot restore it for you.

Yes. From Settings → Your data, you can export your recordings and transcriptions, along with any photos you've added, as a single ZIP file, shared through your device's normal share sheet so you can save it or send it on. The exported file itself isn't encrypted, so only share or store it somewhere you trust.
