Terms of Use

These terms of use apply to the inBetween app and describe what you may expect from us and what we expect from you. By installing or using inBetween you agree to them.

We may update these terms. For significant changes you will be notified in the app. The date at the top always indicates the most recent version.

inBetween is a quiet place to record your story: you speak, the app can transcribe your recording and help you turn fragments into text.

inBetween is NOT a therapeutic, medical or psychological service, and does not replace professional help. The AI-generated transcriptions, titles and stories are meant for personal exploration — not as diagnosis, advice or treatment. If you have concerns about your mental health, please contact a qualified professional.

You must be at least 16 years old to use inBetween. You use the app for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.

We grant you a personal, non-transferable and non-exclusive right to use inBetween on devices you own or control, for as long as you comply with these terms.

You may not resell the app, rent it out, reverse-engineer it, or attempt to circumvent its limits or payment mechanisms.

Everything you record, write or generate in inBetween remains yours. We claim no ownership of it.

Your recordings and transcriptions are stored on your own device. We keep no copy. What is sent to an external service, when and why, is described in our privacy policy.

inBetween can be used free of charge, within limits. The free version currently includes a set number of free recordings, a set number of questions you can answer, and a fixed amount of transcription time.

These limits are shown in the app and may change. If we lower a limit, that change applies to new use — not retroactively to what you have already recorded.

inBetween + is a paid subscription that removes those limits and expands the monthly transcription allowance. The exact price, duration and terms are shown in the app before you confirm, in your own currency.

The subscription is purchased and billed through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play, not by us directly. Your payment details are handled by Apple or Google; we never receive or see them.

A subscription renews automatically for the same period, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The renewal is charged to your App Store or Google Play account.

You cancel through that same account — in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, not in the inBetween app. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.

If you reinstall the app or move to a new device, use 'Restore purchases' on the subscription screen to regain access.

Because purchases run through Apple and Google, refunds are handled under their policies and through their support channels — not by us. We can advise, but we cannot issue a refund on their behalf.

If something is wrong on our side, tell us at hello@iaminbetween.com and we will help you sort it out.

During a testing period we may give testers a code that unlocks inBetween + so they can try the paid features. This is meant for testing only — it is not a way to obtain a subscription, and we do not offer it as an alternative to subscribing.

Such a code is personal, cannot be transferred or resold, has no cash value, and can be withdrawn at any time, including when the testing period ends.

Do not use inBetween to record or generate material that is unlawful, or that infringes the rights of others.

Do not attempt to disrupt the app or the servers behind it, to gain access to other people's data, or to use our AI features in an automated or abusive way.

We build inBetween with care, but we cannot promise the app is always available or entirely free of faults. Features may be added, changed or removed as the app develops.

AI features depend on external services. If such a service is unavailable, those features may temporarily not work. Recording always keeps working — it runs entirely on your device.

inBetween is offered for personal use. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, or for loss of data that was stored solely on your own device.

Because your recordings live on your device and we keep no copy, we recommend keeping your own backup of anything you would not want to lose.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer under Dutch or European law.

You can stop at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting the app. Deleting the app erases the data stored on your device.

We may suspend access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly breached. Where that is reasonable, we will contact you first.

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Any disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer law designates another court.
